HOW IT BEGAN

Nicholas Wong, owner & chef, was in the kitchen early as a kid, around 7-8 years old. His love of cooking evolved while watching The Food Network everyday after school, seeing great chefs like Emeril Lagasse, Ming Tsai, and Julia Childs cook up dishes he had never seen before. Growing up in a Chinese household, Nick understood the differences between authentic and “Amercanized” Chinese food.

Nick looked to the Williamsburg community and saw there was nothing authentic to the food he ate growing up. He sat down and wanted to change that, giving Williamsburg and neighboring cities something that could potentially change their views on what real Chinese food looked and tasted like.

After months of debate and dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Nick put his foot down and settled on Wong Way’s Food in February of 2021. Wong Way’s Food currently does weekly meal deliveries, catering, and private events.

Authentic Chinese food is NOT anywhere close to Chinese takeout. I take the time to create each sauce, source fresh produce and meats, and use no fillers in my cooking.
